Welcome to Sabor de mi Tierra Mexican Grill

Sabor de Mi Tierra means “flavors of our land.” For our family, that means the smell of tortillas warming on the comal, the recipes our grandmothers passed down to us, and the feeling of being back home in Guerrero and Mexico City, Mexico. We wanted to share a little of that feeling when we opened our family-owned and operated restaurant in Stone Park, Illinois, in 2018. In 2022, we moved to Addison, bringing our grandmothers’ recipes with us.

Mom and Dad still work in the kitchen, and Mom still has the final say on how everything tastes. She makes sure the food we serve is as fresh and well-seasoned as the food we’d put on our own family table. We still make our tortillas by hand, the way we learned back home in Guerrero. Those tortillas are just as important to us as the dishes we’re known for, from our birria and crispy quesabirria tacos with rich consommé to our carne asada made with premium arrachera.

We filled our dining room with colorful art and set out to make it feel like home. When you sit down with us, we want you to feel the way you do at a family table. You can take your time, pass a plate around, and stay a little longer over a craft margarita. Whether it’s your first visit or we already know your usual order, we’re glad you’re here.

It means a lot to us that people make the trip from Chicago and across the western suburbs to eat with us, including our neighbors in Itasca, Bensenville, Bloomingdale, Villa Park, Glendale Heights, Carol Stream, and Schaumburg. Come share the flavors of our land at 340 W. Lake St. in Addison. From our family to yours, welcome.
